Abstract

Hypertension is a major global concern and is one of the key preventable risk factors for cardiovascular events. It is a condition that occurs as a result of repeatedly elevated blood pressure exceeding 140 over 90 mmHg. It has massive disturbing impact on the population’s health, resulting in unnecessary morbidity and mortality Management of hypertensive patients aims at improve their quality of life, prevent complications, and decrease mortality .Within the context of hypertension management, a number of factors are targeted but noncompliance
to treatment is still counted as one of the major contributing factors to poor management and control of hypertension. Compliance involves not only taking the prescribed medications but also adherence to follow-up appointments and maintaining the recommended life style
