Abstract The antioxidant activities and inhibition of lipid peroxidation by phycocyanin extracted from Spirulina platensis previously growing under stress assistance through an experiment in which the alga allowed to grow in presence of either sodium chloride or selenium and in combination. Results evaluated that phycocyanin has good efficiency to inhibit lipid peroxidation by (72%) and the rate of inhibition was significanty increased when the alga treated with Se it gave 88% On the other hands an obvious reduction was attained especially when the alga treated with (NaCl+Se).The percentage of inhibition was 27% with regard to its control. |
