Abstract Concrete quality affected by several factors such as curing and compaction processes. Sometimes it is difficult to compact concrete so, it is preferable to use a type of concrete that does not need compaction processes. That type of concrete is self-compacted concrete. In addition, to use a type of concrete does not need conventional curing processes, the self-curing concrete were used. The combination of two types provides a suitable solution for the curing and compacting processes. As the progress in using that type, the trend was to study the effect of curing agent on the behavior of self-compacted self-curing concrete. This research consists of two stages. The first is conducted to investigate the effect of curing agent on the properties of self-compacted concrete to obtain self-compacted self-curing concrete The main variables are; concrete grade, curing agent type and its percentage to obtain better agent and its percentage. The characteristics of fresh concrete were obtained in terms of; slump flow test, V-funnel test (Fillingability, segregation resistance) and J-ring test (passingability). The characteristics of hardened concrete were obtained in terms of; compressive strength, splitting tensile test and flexure test. The second stage is conducted to investigate the behavior of reinforced beam elements cast using obtained optimum ratios of curing agents. The results were drive in terms of load-deflection curves, stress-strain relations and crack pattern. |
