Abstract Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a hemopoetic disorder characterized by a block in differentiation of hemopoiesis, resulting in growth of clonal population of neoplastic cell or blasts. Moreover, (WHO) classification for ALL added the genetic, immunophenotyping, biological and clinical feature to the morphological finding. Immunophenotyping has became an important diagnostic tool in establishing the diagnosis and classification of acute lympoblastic leukemia. CD 123 is an 0. subunit of a heterodimcr IL-3 receptor, a member of the cytokine receptor superfamily. IL-3 is known to be involved in proliferation and maturation of human 8 cells. B-lymphoid blasts from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) have been shown to express functional CD 123 The purposes of the present study were to examine the expression of CD 123 on newly diagnosed 8 -cell ALL cases by flow cytometry. |
