Abstract This thesis comprises three chapters. The first of which deale with a general review on the spectroscopic properties and photochenical behaviour of different forms of cinnante acid, ethyl cinnamate as well as polyvinylcinnamate. The first chapter is concluded by giving the ain of investigation and stating the problem. The second chapter of this thesis includes the results and discussion and comprises four parts: 1. The first part deals with the different methods for the preparation of photosensitive polyvinyleinnanate, 2. The second part is devoted to study the infrared spectra of the different forms of cinnamic acid (or, B and 8) as well as freshly prepared and irradiated polyvinylcinnamate films. 3. The third part of this chapter deals with detailed study on the absorption and emission spectra of efnnanie acid, ethyl cinnamate, polyvinylcinnamate and cinnamaldehyde aroyl hydrazones as well as the Zn(TT) complexes. The effect of irradiation of these compounds has been also studied. |
