Abstract

This thesis contains three chapters. the first chapter presents three topics; the determination of equilibrium constants, the extrapolation of equilibrium constants to zero ionic strength and the literature values of equilibrium constants of the systems investigated in KNO3 at 25.0c and different ionic strength. the first topic includes an introduction of the types of equilibria investigated, the concept of concentration and mixed constants, the constant ionic medium method and the properties of alkali metals as supporting electrolytes. the methods of methods of computation of the equilibrium constants are all based on least squares procedures using KONST and SUPERQUAD programs.
