Abstract
Recent studies on metals in sediment of marine environments especially those of environmental importance are dealing with the selective extraction of certain phase or a set of phases rather than the analysis of the bulk sample the partition of metals between different phases in marine sediment is of prime importance for determining their stability or mobility in the marine environment.
