Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of three experiments of Red Tilapia. The first experiment was to study the effect of different dietary protein levels and fish size on growth performance using two different protein levels (25 and 32%) under each protein level, there were two fish sizes (7 and 25 g), feed was given two fish at 3% of the body weight / day. The better treatment was 32% crude protein and low fish size (7g).
The second experiment was to study the effect of feeding levels and feeding regimes on growth using three feeding levels 2, 3 and 4% of total fish biomass and within each feeding levels tested two feeding frequency 4 and 6 times/day with initial weight 5.28 to 5.8 and 32% crude protein (the best in experiment 1), the better results was using 4% feeding levels from total fish biomass and 4 times/day.
The third experiment was study the effect of different stocking density on growth performance and survival rate used 4 stocking densities 30, 60, 90 and 120 fish/m3, using 32% crude protein, feeding levels 4% of total fish biomass and 4times/day (the better in experiment 2), the better results was using 120 fish/m3 which more suitable optimum for growth performance and survival rate which was 100%.
The results of the study showed that the best stocking density was 120 fish/m3, 32% crude protein, feeding levels 4% of total fish biomass and 4 times/day.
