Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of osseous injuries soft tissues injuries neurological complications and vascular injuries around the shoulder assocating traumatic andterior glenohumeral dislocations. A prospective study was carried out on 30 patients presenting with traumatic anterior glenohumeral dislocation at the emergency department of Tanta university hospital from January 2013 to January 2014.The period of follow up ranged from 6 to 12 months. The age of patients in this study ranged from 20 to 60 years with average 40 years. There were twenty two males (73.3%) and eight females (26.7%) .Ten patients(33.3%) were manual workers,seven patients(23.3%) were housewives, two patients(6.7%) were drivers, and eleven patients(36.7%) with other various occupations.Fall on outstretched hand was the mechanism of injury in thirteen patients(43.3%),falling from height in seven patients(23.3%),direct trauma in seven patients(23.3%) and motor vehicle accident in three patients(10%). |
