Abstract The present study was carried out to assess the effect of (Easy Graft ceramic) on bone formation in experimental induced diabetic rabbits. The material was grafted into a surgically created bone defects in animal model. The study was conducted on 12 male adult white Newzeland rabbits, 6 of them (group 1) nondiabetic received Easy Graft as bone graft, while 6 of them (group 2) diabetic received Easy Graft as bone graft. Two rabbits were sacrificed from each group at 2,4 and 6 weeks intervals post-operatively. The specimens were stained with H&E and Trichrome stains and histological evaluation was performed to evaluate the structure of the different tissues present in the bone defects and to monitor the bone formation process. When comparing the bone formation process between group 1 and group 2, it was found that group 1 has an efficient bone formation than group 2. The difference between the two groups were more pronounced until the end of the study. |
