Abstract This study was conducted to evaluate clinically and radiographically changes in the cristal bone loss around dental implants with different vertical positions. The study included sixteen patients of both genders. They were selected from the Outpatient Clinic of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University. Patient’s age ranged between 27 and 42 years, with an average age of 34.5 ± 0.12 years. Patients were divided into two groups. In the control group, the coronal portion of implants were in the same level with the alveolar bone crest , while in the study group coronal portion of implants were placed 1-2mm below the bone level. Patients were evaluated clinically immediately post-operative and on the 1st, 3rd and 6th months after surgery for the following: 1- The presence of pain or any post-operative complications. 2- Measuring the Probing depth. 3- Assessing the degree of gingivitis. 4- Measuring the mobility of dental implants. Also, Radiographic follow-up was performed to assess the level of bone height and density around dental implants using Image J program. |
