The specimens were stained with H&E and Trichrome stains and histological evaluation was performed to evaluate the cellular changes in the defects and to monitor the bone formation process. When comparing the two groups, it was found that, the grafted sites showed accelerated bone formation due to use of Tigran ™ porous titanium granules. The results revealed that bone healing process was seen in the two groups (study and control group), but the active bone formation was much more enhanced in the study group, as osteoblasts and island of woven bone were seen earlier and they were continued until new mature bone formation was almost occur in the 12 weeks interval. |
