Abstract Ultrasound is the first-line imaging modality of choice in pediatric patient presenting with pelvic complaints .as it does not need for patient preparation, no intravenous iodinated contrast administration, no ionizing radiation exposure , excellent soft tissue delineation and resolution .Ultrasonography has a high diagnostic value in diagnosing the nature of pelvic lesions As it gives important knowldage regarding characterization of pelvic lesion &and can detect origin of this pelvic pathology either gynecological or non gynecological and “degree of suspicion” for malignancy, have predictive diagnostic value in doubt of malignancy by suspsious characters as thick septaion ,sold masses ,mg lymph node, bilaterality ,ascitis and irregular margine .In this study, We classified pelvic pathology according their origin either gynecological or non-gynecological lesions.we found that most of pelvic pathology were gyncological in origin 28 case(70%)&only 12 cases (30%)were non gynecological in origin.Another role of US to characterize pelvic lesions according to their composion as follow:17cystic (42.5%),9sold(22.5%),10 mixed (25%),2 fat containg(5%) and 2 cases with calcification(5%). |
