Abstract

This study dealt with (Effect of Green Tea Polyphenols In Ameliorating Cardiovascular Risk Factors In Experimentally Induced Diabetic Male Rat). The obtained results can be summarized as follows: 1- A significant elevation in blood glucose and a significant reduce in body weight after STZ to stimulate diabetes, after the treatment by using (PP-60) there is a marked amelioration in both blood glucose and body weight. 2- After STZ injection there is a significant elevation in the levels of (Serum glucose, HbA-1c, and HOMA-IR) and a significant reduction in insulin level comparing to the normal group, after the treatment by using (PP-60) there is a marked modulation in these levels. 3- After diabetes stimulation, there is a significant elevation in the lipid profile including (Total lipids, triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL, VLDL, and HDL) as compared to the normal group, by using (PP-60) for the treatment there is a significant amelioration in these lipid fractions in comparison with diabetic group. 4- A significant elevation in (CK-MB, LDH) in the heart of diabetic rats compared to the normal group, the treatment by using (PP-60) resulted in a significant reduction in these enzymes in comparison with diabetic group. 5- After STZ injection, there is a significant elevation in (MDA and H2O2) compared to the normal group, a significant reduction in both of them after the treatment by using (PP-60) in comparison to the diabetic one. 6- A significant reduction in the levels of (SOD, CAT, and GSH) in diabetic group compared to the normal one, the treatment by using (PP-60) led to a significant elevation in these levels compared to diabetic group. 7- A significant elevation in apoptotic cells in diabetic group compared to the normal one by using (Annexin V-FITC), after the treatment by using (PP-60) resulted in a significant reduction in this apoptotic cells in comparison to the diabetic group. 8- A significant elevation in (CD95, Bax, caspases, 3,8, and 9) and significant reduction in Bcl-2 in diabetic group, the treatment by using (PP-60) resulted in a significant amelioration in these proteins compared to the diabetic group. 9- A significant elevation in the levels of (IL-1b, IL-6, and TNF-α) in diabetic group, the treatment by using (PP-60) resulted in a significant amelioration in these levels compared to the diabetic group. 10- A significant increase in the levels of (P35 and tail DNA) in diabetic group, the treatment by using (PP-60) led to a significant amelioration in these levels compared to the STZ group.
