Abstract

In this study a total of 101 quarter milk samples were collected as raw milk from different localities of Sharkia governorate and represent 3 levels of farm production and farm density , The bacteriological examination of collected milk samples was carried out for detection of staph aureus with special concern to the results of field test (CMT), which revealed the presence of 49 cases suffering from subclinical mastitis with a percentage of 48.5% , 26 out of them proved to be staph aureus with a percentage of isolation reached 53.06%.
The number of subclinical cases in high production farms reached about 30 cases (61.22%) and 12 cases were recovered from medium production farms (24.48%) and 7 cases were recovered from low production farms (14.28%).
The isolated strains of staph aureus proved to be pathogenic by application of some pathogenic activity including hemolytic activity, DNase activity and coagulase activity and the results showed that, 21 isolates were hemolytic out of 26 tested isolates, 25 isolates produce DNase and 18 isolates have coagulase activity in addition to TNase positive samples which represent 25 isolates out of 26.
In correlation to the recovery of staph aureus from examined raw milk samples in relation to the climatic season, 26 out of 49 subclinical cases were collected at Summer season, 8 cases were collected were collected in Autumn, 15 cases were collected in Winter.
Concerning the results of (CMT) , the score of positivity recorded as 26 cases (score (+)), 13 cases (score (++)) and 10 cases.
