Abstract Extractive spectrophotometric determination of STR,NMS and SPC using acid dyes(BCG,BCP and Alz R S). This method are based on the formation of yellow colored complex between studied drugs and acid dyes bromocresol green(BCG),bromocresol purple(BCP) in buffer pH range(3-3.5) and ALIZARIN Red S (Alz R S) in 0.01 M HCl. Yhe formed complexes were extracted in methylene chloride for BCG and Alz R S and chloroform for BCP and measured at 430,436 and 430 nm using BCG,BCP and Alz R S respectively for STR. The formed complexes were extracted in chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and methylene chloride and measure at 477,440 and 430 nm using BCG,BCP and Alz R S respectively for NMS. The formed complexes were extracted in chloroform for BCG and methylene chloride for BCP and Alz R S and measured at 441,466 and 430 nm using BCG,BCP and Alz R S respectively for SPC.The results showed that, the proposed methods are advantageous over other reported spectrophotometric methods with respect to their higher sensetivity with apparent high molar absorptivity for determination of the studied drugs. The proposed methods were successfully applaied to determine the studied drugs in their dosage forms. The results obtained were compared statistically with reported methods by student’s t-test and variance ratio F-test. The results showed that the t- and F-values were less than the critical tabulated value indicating that there was no significant difference between the proposed and reported methods. |
