Abstract

contains such well-known
arthropods as scorpions, spiders, mites, ticks, and many others.
The Subclass Acari includes the mites and ticks, and their study
has been fastly developed, due to the significant importance of
the medical and agricultural studies (Krantz, 1970 and
Ramadan, 1995). Acari have vast populations in the soil and
fresh or marine water. The aquatic Acari are known as water
mites. According to Ward and Whipple (1958), the fresh water
mites are those which live either in or very close to fresh water
bodies.
Water mites occupy a wide range of habitats, as stagnant
