Abstract

This study aimed to : Regulate water absorpation of nutrients from the soil because it is sensitive to shock irrigation.Provide the amount of water used for irrigation. Improve the soil PH due to the addition of organic matter. The production of ahigh quality product. Preservation fruits during storage where the fruits of pepper damage it fast. Methods & Result:Two field experiments were carried out at El-Baramon experimental farm, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt, during the two successive summer seasons of 2012 and 2013 to investigate the effect of pre and post-planting treatments as well as their interactions on growth and productivity of bell pepper (Capsicum annum L.) variety of ” California wonder”. In the land clay condition. Fifteen treatments were arranged in split plots design, which were the simple possible combination between three treatments of soil application (Straw rice coats at 4 ton/fed, Humic acid at 5 Kg/fed and polymers 20Kg/ fed) and five treatments of foliar spray.as sub plots : Without.Ca (calcium citrate 2.5 mg/L) + B (boric acid 1.5 mg/L). Yeast (10 mg/L) + K (potassium citrate 2.5 mg/l)Yeast (10 mg/L) + NAA (naphthalene acetic acid 2.5 mg/L) + K (potassium citrate 4 mg/L). 5-Zn (0.35 gm/100 L) + Cu (0.20 gm/100 L) + Mn (0.25 gm/100 L) in sulphure form. Each treatment was replicated three times sprayed plants at 45 days after transplanting and repeated every 15 day intervals three times. Storability : Storage of bell pepper fruits yield was carried out 12 days. Fruit yield from 4th picking taken and stored in perforated polyethylene bags in the fridge at 5co and relative humidity 90-95%. Also another fruits yield from the same picking were taken and storage by immersion fruits in potassium silicate as (5mg/l). The following characteristics were determined Percentage of weight loss (every 3 days) : it was estimated using the following formula .The application of soil materials significantly increased in vegetative growth parameters, yield and its components and fruit quality was humic acid as asoil application, the foliar application Y+NAA+K gave higher value compered with also application, that the interaction application with humic acid as asoil application and Y+NAA+K as afoliar application gave higher rates of this characters. Storability : Weight of loss:The weight loss % at 3, 9 and 12 days from start storage period till the end of storage period were significantly affected by adding soil application during the both seasons. The means values of parameter under study were significantly affected with foliar spray during the both seasons and realized for the plants treated with Zn+Cu+Mn.The highest significant values of the aforementioned parameters were recorded while plants spraying Zn+Cu+Mn under adding straw rice coats as soil application. As for the result of adding potassium silicate found a decrease in weight of loss% under all treatments investigation comparing the without adding potassium silicate during storage period. Adding potassium silicate found a decrease in the weight of loss % from begining of storage until the end comparing with the plant storage without adding potassium silicate.CONCLUSION : These all findings emphasize the importance of determining the interactive effects between soil application and foliar spray from different enhance materials to find out the optimum combinations for maximum early, total yield and special fruit quality. The treatment of adding 5 kg/fed. humic acid with spray Y+NAA+K under the soil application considered the best combination and it is recommended for pepper plant grown under similar field conditions in order to get higher economical yield. Finally, the application of straw rise coats as asoil application and Zn+Cu+Mn as afoliar application gave the lowest of weight loss% and using potassium silicate is superior post-harvest treatments of pepper plant.
