Abstract

The building sector consumes about 40% of extracted earth resources annually (total extracted resources are 60 billion ton) according to continuous rising of the world population growth which, increasing demand for building market. Therefore, three is a necessary call for applying sustainable principles in architecture and building sector, in particular. One of these principles requires alternative building materials such as reused and recycled waste materials. Due to the importance of reused and recycled materials in building construction, these materials occupy points in some international sustainable building rating systems checklists. LEED; as one of the best international sustainable building rating system; give reused and recycled materials 8 % total points in materials and resources category.
