Abstract The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of Jojoba oil, lavender oil and their mixture on amelioration the hepatotoxicity in CCl4 injected rats & hypercholesterolemia of rats and changes of immunity. The current study was performed on a total of 65 mature albino rats weighing 150-160 g. Rats were fed on normal (basal) diet and water which were provided ad libitum. The animals were divided into 13 equal groups; one group was kept as a (C –ve) group, while the other groups were disparted into two main groups: 1- First group (30 rats)Thirty male albino rats were treated by subcutaneous injection of carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) in paraffin oil 50% V/V (2ml / kg b. wt.)twice a week for two weeks to induce chronic damage. Rats with liver intoxication were disparted into six equal groups (n= 5 rats) as follows:Group (2): was kept without any treatment as a control positive (C +ve group) and fed on basal diet only for 28 days.Group (3): was fed on basal diet plus 2.5% of Jojoba oil.Group (4): was fed on basal diet plus 5% of Jojoba oil.Group (5): was fed on basal diet plus 2.5% of Lavender oil.Group (6): was fed on basal diet plus 5% of Lavender oil.Group (7): was fed on basal diet plus 2.5% of mixture of Jojoba oil and Lavender oil (1:1).After the injection of CCl4, blood samples were obtained by retro orbital method. |
