Abstract
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a serious health problem worldwide, leading to the possibility of serious illness and risk of death. VTE is the most common vascular disease after myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke. It consists of two related conditions: deep vein thrombosis DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
