Abstract Infection with Helicobacter pylori is one of the most common infections in the world. H. pylori has been shown to cause gastritis and peptic ulcers in millions of the people world wide. Helicobacter pylori has been also implicated in stomach cancer to such a degree that the World Health Organization has classified it as a class 1 carcinogen. There are several studies of transmission of Helicobacter pylori such as oral - oral; gastro – oral; water or food. In addition some data have shown that some cultural habits increase the transmission of Helicobacter pylori for example the pre mastication of food by African mothers before feeding their children. |
