Abstract This thesis presents an examination of timing jitter problem in ultrafast, high repetition rate laser pulses. Key results were achieved by feedback technique. Piezoelectric crystal with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) as a passive mode-locking device and a phase detector device are used to reduce timing jitter from tenth of picosecond down to sub picoseconds. Phase noise signal was examined here using a well known commercial system and then the performance was compared with the suggested system. Cr:LiSAF femtosecond laser system was designing and built and used in the present work. |
