Abstract

The objective of this research was to use ultrasound as ecofriendly technique to enhance dyeing performance and antibacterial behaviors of PET dyed with some Azopyrazole disperses dyes. The use of ultrasound imparted greater color strength and higher antibacterial activity. The color strength expressed as k/s of the dyed samples was evaluated in addition to CIE lab coordinates (L*,a* and b*) were also measured. Washing, rubbing and light Fastness properties were evaluated for both conventional and ultrasound dyeing techniques. Scanning electron microspore was used to investigate the morphological characteristics of the dyed samples.
The present work is represented in three chapters, first chapter contains simply scientific review collected from scientific references that related to thesis topic, it consists of: I, polyester fabric and its properties. II, Disperse dyes incorporating pyrazolesand methods of synthesis dyes. III, ultrasound and its mechanisms of work.
The second chapter of the present work shows the methods of work and explain the experiments.
Third chapter (results and discussion) consists of:
I, results of antibacterial activity of synthesized dyes and dyed samples(treated-untreated)
II, results of color measurement of dyed samples(treated-untreated)
III, results of fastness properties of dyed samples(treated-untreated)
IIII, results of surface morphology(SEM) of dyed sampes (treated-untreated)
