Abstract

The main experiments were carried out at Sakha Research station ( Kafr-Elshiek Governorate) in the growing seasons 2010 to 2011 of Egyptian cotton (Gossypium barbadense) the experimental area was about 40 feddans . The main objectives of this study are: 1. Utilization irrigation modeling based on remote sensing for determining the optimize irrigation water requirements so as to control the growth of cotton plants to suit mechanical picking. 2. `Evaluate performance two style of cotton picker under irrigation systems (Center pivot and Gated pipe) reducing losses of picking and improve cotton grade and conserve quality lint. The experimental results reveal the following. 1. Recommended to be used of treatments LC3av ((80%) of IR) under row spacing 80 cm ( R2) using center pivot in variety Giza88 obtained the highest reduction of plant height (102 cm) under spiral spindle picker (P2) is recorded the optimum of picking efficiency(%) and returns (LE/fad) recorded (92.4%,6161) respectively but it is recorded the optimum of productivity and water productivity (8.62 Qu./Fad, 0.63 kg/m3) under tooth spindle machine(P1) compare with manual picking. 2. It is recommended that Giza 88 (extra long variety) is suitable for utilization mechanical picking provided grade and conserve quality lint using management of these study.
