Abstract The aim of this work which is carried out at El-Gharbia governorate, in several localities is to differentiate between avian pathogenic E.coli and non pathogenic E.coli in broiler chickens. As following: 1-To evaluate the occurrence of pathogenic types of E.coli among the diseased cases in EL-Gharbia governorate.2-Investigate the genetic differences in isolated E.coli strains using RAPD analysis. 3-Asses the prevalence of antimicrobial-resistance among isolated E.coli. The main results of this study were: 1-Bacteriological examination of 150 broiler chickens revealed the isolation of 100 isolates of E.coli .Isolation on macconkey agar then isolation on EMB agar then isolation on congo red :all reveal typical E.coli character.2-API 20E applied on 20 isolate of E.coli revealed all strains were E.coli. API 20E is accurate test for biochemical identification of E.coli. 3-Serotyping of 15 of E.coli isolates revealed the following : (2 isolates) of E.coli O158 (13.3%), (2 isolates) of E.coli O63 (13.3%), (1isolate) of E.coli O8 (6.6%), (1 isolate) of E.coli O78 (6.6%), (2 isolates) of E.coli O169 ( 13.3% ), (1 isolate) of E.coli O151 (6.6%), (3 isolate) of E.coli O146 (20%), (1 isolate) of E.coli O159 (6.6%), (1 isolate) of E.coli O142 (6.6%), (1 isolate) of E.coli untyped. |
