Abstract The present work affords a comprehensive contribution to the suitability of a local by-product (wool wax) for leather processing. The thesis is accomplish ed along . the following main parts : !-Chemical and physical analyses of local wool wax 2-Sulphonation ofwool wax In this part, sulphuric acid, chlorosulphonic acid and sodium bisulphite were used. Factors which affect the reaction conversion have been studied (catalyst type as PTC, oxidizing agent, type of organic solvent, time and temperature ) . 3- Chemical and physical evaluation of the prepared fatliquor. 4-Fatliquoring of chrome tanned leather using the prepared fatliquor and studies of the fatliquored samples from both chemical, physical, mechanical and visual properties point of view 5- Application on different types of leather and comparison with three imported fatliquors . |
