Abstract This study was dealing with a survey for great pump stations in the estern bank of Rever Nile [Souk-El-Samak; Ain-Shams; Ameria, Factories collector; El-Khosous] and western bank of the Nile ·[ Dayoura; Abou-El-Seoud; Siphon; Giza; Alharam] where physico-chemical and biological parameters were evaluated through a complete one year, for Great Cairo area, which lift their wastewater to zenein wastewater Treatment Plant (the site of study). It has been found that the wastewater generated by Great Cairo had the ordinary characteristics of sewage apart from those of Dayoura and Abou-El-Seoud pump stations which had high values regarding the solid and organic contents. This may refere to the high population density, the consumption of potable water and due to the presence of tanneries and other industries. |
