Abstract In the last few decades, there has been a growing interest in the study of singularly perturbed delay deferential equations due to their applications in many scientific fields such as bioscience and engineering. Numerical methods are often used to solve these equations because most of their solutions cannot be found analytically. On the other hand, because of the presence of the singular perturbation parameter, standard discretization methods for solving such problems are not useful and fail to give accurate results when the singular perturbation parameter tends to zero. This motivates the need for other methods that have uniform convergence. In general, there have been considerable forts to construct uniformly convergent methods. However, most existing methods are first order uniformly convergent and few of them achieved second order uniform convergence. Hence, it is desirable to devise and develop numerical methods with a superior accuracy and uniform convergence with respect to the singular perturbation parameter. |
