Abstract Good nutrition is essential for the improvement of the patient health and his recovery from injury or illness.(1) Providing care for the sick is the primary purpose for which the hospital exists. All aspects of the hospital operation must be developed with the focus centered on the patient and his needs(2) . The aim of our study was to evaluate the nutritional care given to patients with chronic diseases admitted at Tanta University Hospitals, the subobjectives were: assessing the nutritional status of patients with chronic diseases at admission and at leaving the hospital as a parameter for evaluation, assessing the adequacy of diet given to those patients for each disease, assessing food services delivered by Tanta University Hospital according to: staffing and sanitary requirement of the environment , and formulation of a program for nutritional care. |
