Abstract

The thesis entitled” synthesis, characterization and application of some composite material” includes four main chapter:
The first chapter: contains a background and literature survey on composite materials and their uses . also, a literature survey on the removal of pollutants using composite and serval materials.
The second chapter: includes the experimental techniques used for preparation of copolymer of polyaniline anthracitic acid (panaa) and polyaniline anthracitic acid /kaolinite (panaa/kaolinite) composite.
Solution preparation and analytical technique used for characterization of copolymer, composite and the removal percentage study.
The third chapter: deals with the result and discussion of the characterization and polymerization of panaa in presence on different concentration of kaolinite clay. And the yield percentage of all the co-polymer/ kaolinite composite. The uv- vis spectra of composite showed absorption at 292 and 335 nm attributed to transition.
Thermogravimetric analysis showed that in incorporation of kaolinite in the composite has better thermal stability than panaa copolymer. X-ray powder diffraction pattern of composite show crystalline structure without any amorphous character.
The fourth chapter : describes the removal percentage of copper and cadmium ions from aqueous solution using the PANAA/Kaolinite composite. The removal percentage reaches the maximum percentage values by using A5 which have 30% kaolinite. The removal % increased by decreasing PH until it reached 6.5. Increasing of temperature showed an increase in the removal % of copper and cadmium ions from aqueous solution by using PANAA/Kaolinit composite. When the time reached to 20 min the removal percentage reached the maximum values of the two ions with ions with adsorbent dose 0.4 gm.
