Abstract

The aims of this study are to highlight the rate of the urban encroachment on the fertile cultivated land, which will be most probably lost within the coming few decades by a flurried human mode. It is also to monitor the environmental changes emphasizing on the problem of urban encroachment, which is considered as the main element that disturb the integrated components of the environment in the region of Delta Nile. In this study, using satellite remote sensing data and GIS techniques is an important element for mapping land use changes.
