Abstract More recently, non- nutritive sweeteners that can substitute for sucrose have caught great attention due to the growing incidence of obesity and its related chronic illnesses such as diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. Increasing consumer demands for healthy, natural food products have spurred low- caloric sweeteners of natural rather than synthetic origin and that can lead to lose weight and avoid other problems associated with excessive calorie intake for example. |
