II-Observational check lists to assess nurses’ performance regarding application of Wong Baker Pain scale III- Observational check lists to assess nurses’ performance regarding application of Richmond Agitation Sedation scale. IV -Observational check lists to assess nurses’ performance regarding application of Confusion Assessment Method. The current study revealed an increase in total and subtotal nurse’s knowledge and practices post implementation of scenario based educational program. Thus research hypothesis were supported. The current study concluded that nurse’s knowledge and practice related to delirium assessment among critically ill patients were deficient and the implementation of scenario based education strategy had a positive effect on nurses’ competencies to assess critically ill elderly patients for presence of delirium. Based on the results, it is recommended to incorporate use of standardized screening tools that can facilitate early detection and prevention of delirium. Carry out educational program regard delirium assessment and management among elderly critically ill patients using scenario compared to traditional method of teaching.
