Abstract In the this study the incidence of CIAV infections in chickens in Egypt was carried out through. The incidence of CIAV infectious in broiler chicks , broiler breeder chickens and native breed flocks were monitored in Sharkia and Ismailia governorates Egypt. Twenty broiler breeder , broiler and native breed flocks suspected to be CIAV infected were examined and the observed clinical signs and post mortem lesions recorded . The samples were collected for detection of CIAV genome by PCR assay and for studying the pathogenicity of the positive PCR isolates in day-old SPF chicks. The observed clinical signs were uneven growth, depression, pale comb and wattle ; increase coast of medications and high mortalities ranged from 10-70% and 5% in both broilers and breeders respectively. Meanwhile the gross lesions were hemorrhage on the tip of the wings; subcutamious and musculature; thymic and bursal atrophy; enlarged and molted liver and due to secondary bacterial infections gangarenious dermatitis, airsaculites, pericarditis and peri hepatitis were observed in some dead birds. Tissue specimens from (thymus, bursa, spleen, bone marrow and liver) were collected from each flock and pooled to extraction of CIAV DNA genome and select primer of 676 bp fragment for the detection of CIAV by using PCR assay. Four samples representing four flocks out of twenty examined flocks were positive CIAV infections. The identification and characterization of the 4 detected CIAV isolates revealed that the four CIAV strain isolates were identified. |
