Abstract Hysteroscopic examination is now an established step in the diagnostic work up of cases with abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility misplaced or lost intrauterine contraceptive device and recurrent miscarriage. Hysteroscopy is an outstanding tool for evaluating the uterine cavity in infertile patients. One indication for hysteroscopy in infertile patients is repeated IVF-ET failure. The successful pregnancy outcome of patients undergoing ovarian stimulation for IVF or related advanced reproductive technologies depends on several factors. Among these, embryo quality and intrauterine environment play a major role for achievement and further continuation of pregnancy. This study aims to evaluate the use of hysteroscopy for detecting uterine pathologies which may interfere with implantation in patients with failed IVF cycle(s). This prospective observational study was conducted in Tania University Hospital during the period from July 2012 to July 2013. Fifty women, aged 25-35 years, with one or more failed IVF cycle participated in this study. |
