Abstract

Although surgical evacuation of retained products of conception (ERPC has been the gold standard in the management of spontaneous abortion, expectant management, and medical evacuation were advocated as alternative measures.Randomized, controlled trials indicated similar or even lower frequency of short-term and medium-term complications with conservative medical management than with ERPC; however, long-term consequences in relation to fertility are largely unknown, and the new treatment is still not widely accepted. The gold standard for the diagnosis of IUA and AS is hysteroscopy since it offers not only a direct view of the uterine cavity but also ability to manage it immediately once diagnosis is made. This work aims at evaluation of the uterine cavity after both surgical & medical evacuation of abortion Our study was conducted at obstetrics and gynecology department at
Tanta university hospital and included fifty women who had been divided into 2 groups each of them includes 25 patients and were presented with infertility or abnormal uterine bleeding with history of first trimester
abortion who met the inclusion criteria.
