Abstract

This study included 20 cases presented with acute AC joint dislocation through the period from November 2014 to November 2015 The age of patients ranged from 18-52 years with mean age of 31.2 +/- 10.21, and there was no statistically significant relationship according age in our study. Fourteen patients (70%) of the patients were manual hard workers, while six patients (30%) were light workers. Our cases were all males, reported female cases through our study were all Grade III and refused surgical treatment. Eleven cases (55%) were grade III , nine patients (45%) were grade V. Patients with grade IV and VI were not reported. Left side was commonly affected than right side (70%), but there was no significant effect on the final results. Grade V were commonly caused in RTA, while Grade III were caused commonly during sport or after simple fall to the shoulder. But the mechanism of injury had no significant effect on final results. Patients with grade III had no associated injuries. However, patients with grade V were commonly associated with other injuries such as complicated rib fracture, cervical spine injury.
