Abstract Numerical investigation of the flexural behavior on steel hollow section beams and concrete filled steel beams was conducted in this study. The experimental test results were compared with the modeling results for the studied members using structure analysis program (SAP 2000) and that was called the Verification models. After verification of models, the numerical investigation of the flexural behavior was conducted on six different steel box sections in order to compare the developed finite element model results of steel hollow sections (SHS) with concrete filled steel sections (CFSS). These Squared and rectangular sections were investigated as beams subjected to moment “M” and beam columns subjected to moment and normal force “M & N”. Eventually, the results showed that using concrete as a filling material enhances the moment carrying capacity of steel hollow sections and reduces the outcomes deflection values. |
