Abstract The intense and repeated uses of pesticides applications in agriculture resulted in increasing the resistance of pests. Therefore, we should use new alternative active ingredient and this prompted us to synthesize some novel heterocyclic compounds starting from easily obtainable 2-cyanomethyl-benzothiazol and study its behavior towards some different aromatic amines to obtain some new benzothiazole derivatives and evaluate their toxicity against the second instar larvae of the cotton leafworm Spodoptera Littoralis (Boisd). Synthesis of N-(4-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl) phenyl)-2-cyanoacetamide and study its behavior towards some different nucleophiles and electrophiles to obtain poly functionally substituted heterocyclic system. Preparation of 2-(benzo[d]thiazole-2-yl)-3,3-bis(methylthio) acetonitrile in the form of formulation. The chemical structures of compounds were establish and confirmed by their elemental and spectral analysis (IR, Mass, Proton NMR Spectroscopy). The enaminonitriles derivatives resulted from the reaction of dithioacetal compound with different aromatic amines by 1:1 mole tested against the 2nd instar larvae of the cotton leaveworm under laboratory condition showed high toxicity but less than dithioacetal compound. Also in case of reaction by 1:2 mole showed toxicity. In addition to thiazole derivatives resulted from reaction of thiazole with different aromatic amines showed low toxicity than the above compounds. The most effective compound (dithioacetal compound) chosen to be prepared in the form of formulation after studying the physico-chemical properties and evaluate its toxicity against 2nd instar larvae of the cotton leaveworm. The pyridine-2-one derivative, benzylidene derivatives, amino pyrazole derivatives, pyrazolopyrimidine derivative, pyrazolotriazine derivative and numerous of compounds through cyanoacetamide compound. |
