Abstract Aim of the study: Evaluate and compare the effect of the use of two different materials on the color and the depth of artificially induced white spot lesions. Materials and methods: Thirty six premolar teeth will be exposed to a demineralizing solution to induce white spot lesions. The premolars will then be randomly allocated to three equal groups and stored in artificial saliva solution. Each group will receive a different treatment. group 1: Biorepair toothpaste (Coswell S.p.A., Bologna, Italy). group 2: GC tooth mousse topical creme (GC Corporation, Tokyo, Japan). group 3: Control group will receive no treatment. All the groups will be evaluated using a spectrophotometer before demineralization, immediately after demineralization and after one month of treatment to determine the color change of the white spots. The teeth will then be sectioned and examined using polarized light microscopy and the depth of the lesion will be compared between the three groups. |
