Abstract
The present investigations were undertaken during the period from 2014 to 2016. Field and laboratory studies were conducted. The specific purposes of this research were as follows:
1-Survey of entomopathogenic fungi from certain agricultural crops as endophyte.
2-Isolation, identification and characterization of indigenous Beauveria bassiana as endophyte adapted in Assiut.
3-The morphological and physiological characteristics of Beauveria bassiana were conducted.
4-Study occurs of Beauveria bassiana inside asymptomatic plant tissues as fungal endophytes.
5-Pathogenicity of Beauveria bassiana against some insect pests. Mass production of conidia of Beauveria bassiana was conducted. The following are summarizes the main points of this results:
1-Seventy fungal isolates belonging to 23 fungal species were isolated as endophyte from wheat plants.
2-Fifty-six fungal isolates belonging to 31 fungal species were isolated from tomato plants. Leaves harbor larger number of endophytic fungi (32 fungal isolates) than that of stem (19 fungal isolates) and root (5 fungal isolates). As well as Beauveria bassiana (1colony) was recorded as endophyte from tomato leaves.
