المستخلص The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of a program based on drama techniques on developing the aural – oral communication skills of primary sixth graders. The participants were sixty four pupils. They were randomly assigned into a treatment group and a non treatment group (32 pupils each). The instruments of the study included The Communicative Listening Test, the Communicative Speaking Test and the Communicative Oral Rubric (COR). The treatment group was taught using the drama techniques program while the non - treatment group was taught following the plan of the Ministry of Education in Egypt. The participants were pre and post tested. The program was administered in the first term of year 2014/2015. Results revealed that drama techniques program helped to develop pupils` communicative listening and speaking skills as the treatment group surpassed the non- treatment group significantly in the post testing of both the communicative listening and speaking skills. Recommendations and suggestions for further research were presented. |
