Abstract
This thesis includes three chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which covers the literature on the biological activities of some pyrazole derivatives as analgesic, anticancer, anticonvulsant, antihelminitic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, herbicidal, antiviral, antimycobacterial, insecticidal, antifungal and anthelmintic agents. It also deals with diverse methods for the synthesis of pyrazole-3-(4)-carbaldehydes. These methods includes Vilsmeier-Haack reaction of hydrazones, oxidation of the corresponding alcohols and miscellaneous methods. Moreover, the introductory chapter shows some condensation reactions of pyrazole-3-(4)-carbaldehydes with different active methylene compounds, hydrazines, semicarbazides, thiosemicarbazides, hydroxylamine and aromatic amines.
