Abstract
Recently, medicinal plants are considered as big, effective, cheap, safe and available source which have valuable therapeutic importance for many diseases conditions. Beneficial effects of herbal extract or active substances in animal nutrition may include the stimulation of appetite and feed intake, the improvement of endogenous digestive enzyme secretion, the physiological and chemical function of the digestive tract and had the highest stimulatory influence particularly on bile secretion and pancreatic enzymes activity. The use of plant herbs has resulted in improving rumen ecology supporting performance and health status. Dietary additives with natural origin such as plant products are capable of modulating and improving the reticulo ruminal physiological functions.
Therefore this work was aimed to investigate the effect of extract of some medicinal plants on rumen fermentation characteristics, evaluate the effects of these extracts on some hematological and some serum biochemical parameters, determine the effect of these extracts on animals weight gain, developing new extract mixture that may be used as dietary supplements for animals instead of antibiotics feed additives and treatment of indigestion by mixture of some medicinal plants.
This work was carried on 65 adult balady goats to conduct an experimental and field studies.
