Abstract Linum usitatissimum is a genus of flowering plants, belongs to family Linaceae. The previous studies showed the importance of this species due to its biological activities and applications in traditional medicine and economic. Therefore, we decided to perform detailed phytochemical and biological studies on Linum usitatissimum. The fresh plant, seeds were extracted by soxhlet using the organic solvents n-hexane; methylene chloride and methanol. The constituents of each fraction were investigated by chromatographic techniques (column and thin layer chromatography). This work has led finally to characterization of 60 natural compounds using modern spectral methods such as GC/MS and NMR spectroscopy. It was a biological evaluation of plant extracts:1.Evaluation antimicrobial activity. 2.Evaluation antioxidant activity. 3.Evaluation cytotoxicity against human tumor cells HePG2 and MCF-7. Nanoformulation of one subfraction by using pluronic nano-micelles through nanoprecipitation technique. These organic compounds may have applications in the medical field, economic or academic interest. |
