Abstract Although pregnancy itself is generally not considered as a medical condition, pregnancy and delivery inevitably bear the risk of complications. It term pregnancy, hypertension, growth restriction, gestational diabetes mellitus and preterm, prelabour rupture of membranes can occur. Based upon there are two major types of high-risk pregnant women: those who have chronic conditions that predispose them to problems during pregnancy, and those who develop an unanticipated complication during a previously normal pregnancy. As well as that both the mother and/or her child at risk complications or death. That calls for skilled care and some will require a major obstetrical intervention to survive. The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge of nurse`s working in obstetric clinic at family health units about high-risk pregnancy. The study design was an exploratory descriptive research design, and the study was conducted in all 35obstetric clinics at family units and centres in Kafr el Dawar at 31 family health units and 4 family health canters. The study sample included 245 nurses. |
