Abstract

Abdominal contouring with Vaser has been associated with combined procedures in order to optimize the final outcome or simply to accomplish patient desire to have two procedures or more at the same time.
Infraumbilical panniculectomy and traditional abdominoplasty increase postoperative wound complication rates in patients undergoing abdominal wall reconstruction with the component separation technique for large complex ventral hernias to more than 30 %. In the setting of large complex ventral hernia repair, an overall postoperative wound complication rate of 11 %, including dehiscence, skin-edge necrosis, surgical site infection, and seroma are associated.
Postoperatively, the surgeon should check the patient at appropriate intervals of time depending on the extent of surgery, patient age, and patient. Awareness of the early symptoms or physical findings of a complication is essential in order to make a timely diagnosis. Proper studies should be obtained and treatment begun as soon as possible in order to avoid a dangerous or life threatening problem.
