Abstract Radiation is believed to be a constituent part of the environment since the days of the “big bang”. The natural radiation environment is composed of radiations of cosmic and terrestrial origin. Radiations may have both harmful and beneficial aspects for living things. The availability and spatial composition of the sources of these radiation are altered due to human activities from time to time. In addition, artificially produced radio elements can get into the natural environment due to human activities ranging from power generation to detonations. |
