Abstract This study included 88 consecutive patients, [55 males (63.9%), 33 females (36.1%), with a mean age ± SD of 59.46 ± 6.68 years, ranging from 34 to 75 years] with anginal pain and LBBB at CCU of Minia University Hospital in the period from September 2014 to September 2015. The serum ischemia modified albumin (IMA) levels were measured from blood taken immediately on admission. Diagnostic coronary angiography was done for the patients at El- Minia Cardiology Cath. Lab. Patients were classified into two groups, a group includes patients with anginal pain and LBBB and another one includes cases with LBBB and normal coronary angiography as a control group. Comparison of the IMA levels between the two groups and Correlation between IMA levels and extent& severity of CAD in the first group, determined by using the severity and modified Gensini scores, were detected. IMA levels were significantly higher in the first group than the second group with P value (<0.001) and it was an independent factor for diagnosis of obstructive CAD in the first group. IMA with a cut off value > 95 U/ml could independently predict significant obstructive CAD in patients with ACS and LBBB with AUC of 0.923, Sensitivity of 88%, specificity of 83.33%, PPV of 93.6%, NPV of 71.4% and Accuracy 86.76%. Moreover, there was a significant correlation between IMA levels and extent&severity of CAD in the patients with P value (<0.001). |
